The “God’s Man Plan”

THE “I’M GOD’S MAN PLAN”

We all go through phases and stages of spiritual development. God is molding us into what He has called us to be. There are important steps along the way that we must take that will bring us closer and closer to being the men of God that will have a great impact on our families and communities.

Step One – Awakening, “Discovering Who I Am” – Each of us are on the road to becoming the men of God that He has called us to be. Although we may be at different stages on this journey, we are all travelling on a similar course of fiery trials that are to purify our faith and perfect us in this process.

It’s important for us to have an inner (awakening) where we realize and begin to discover God’s purpose in calling us and who He intends for us to be in Him.

Examples of an (awakening):

1. The prodigal son -  St. Luke 15:17 And when he came to himself, he said, how many hired servants of my fathers have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

2. The four lepers – 2 Kings 7: 3-4 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? 4 If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, andlet us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.

Step Two – Awareness, “Where Am I” and where is God

Examples of (awareness):

1. Jacob – Genesis 28:10-16 (verse 16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not).

2. Job – Job 23: 3-10 (verse 10 But He knoweth the way that I take: when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold).

Step Three – Pivot/Changes, “Turning My Life Around To Become A Godly Man”

Examples of the (change):

1. Onesimus – Philemon verses 10-18 (verse 11 Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me).

2. John (Mark) - *Read Acts 15:36-40 and 2 Timothy 4:11

Step Four – Accountability, “Building Your Circle Of Men”

Examples of (accountability):

1. Reference: Proverbs 13:20 – He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

2. Reference: 2 Timothy 2:22 – Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Step Five – Legacy/Heritage, “How Do You Want To Be Remembered”

Example of leaving a spiritual (inheritance):

1. Reference: Deuteronomy 6:6-7 – And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risestup.

2. Reference: Psalm 112:1-6 – (verse 2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed).
